The initials IRC stand for Internet Relay Chat, (not Internal Revenue Cervice, GNP aka Leslie :) as you just read in the title of this page. IRC is a way of talking to people anywhere in the world, (yes, even Virginia, Butchy :) in what is called "real time" chat. You don't have to hit the reload button (not the red one either, Bette :) or refresh your screen (you do have to keep your screen dusted though, preferrably with a CLEAN tissue Toots :) every time you want to speak (quit yelling ed99 :) or see what others are saying. (WAKE UP IBhim!!! :) The results are instantaneous. (calm down, smoker :) You can talk with individuals "one on one" (except JRenee cuz someone will get jealous :) or large groups of people. (yes Perchy, we're a rowdy crowd at times :)

We could go on for hours telling you about how IRC works, ( ok smoker, I'll shut up soon :) but the author of mIRC, Khaled Mardam-Bey, has said it best. (yes he did Blueeyes :) You'll find many *chat clients* out there, (no babi, I didn't mean you ;) but NONE of them compare to mIRC. mIRC has everything you could possibly want for all of your chatting needs.
